The Vision for Southmead Development Trust is to be regarded and valued as the leading catalyst for improving and enhancing opportunities within the local community.
In order to try and make the vision a reality, the Trust has developed six Strategic Functions and eleven Strategic Outcomes through which it operates:
1. Promoting Health & Physical Activity
Strategic Outcome One: Increasing participation in sport and other physical activities
2. Community
Strategic Outcome Two: Strengthening the voice of the local community through democratic systems and structures
Strategic Outcome Three: Engaging with key partners to help deliver services that meet the needs of the community
Strategic Outcome Four: Generating a surplus from trading activities for the benefit of the local community
3. Enterprise
Strategic Outcome Five: Supporting sustainable growth of locally owned business
4. Education, Qualifications & Training
Strategic Outcome Six: Improving and extending opportunities for community learning
Strategic Outcome Seven: Enhancing and improving employability skills so that people can move into higher skilled jobs
5. Regeneration & Renewal
Strategic Outcome Eight: Improving the quality of the built and natural environment
Strategic Outcome Nine: Actively enabling and directly contributing to the regeneration targets agreed by the Bristol Partnership
6. Operations & Communication
Strategic Outcome Ten: Improve two way communications between the Trust and the wider community
Strategic Outcome Eleven: Encouraging Southmead residents to benefit from and participate in the activities of the Trust
