Southmead Development Trust

What we do

The Southmead Development Trust supports residents in the communities of Southmead and North Bristol.  We run the Greenway Centre, Southmead Youth Centre, and Southmead Adventure Playground (‘The Ranch’). We work in partnership with community groups, other charities, organisations and businesses to raise funds and manage projects and services which increase opportunities, reduce isolation, and promote wellbeing.  We are governed by a Board of Trustees who are local residents.

Greenway Centre

Greenway is home to the Greenhouse Cafe, Greenway Gym and to teams which offer services to help residents. The Centre also offers event, meeting and conference space to hire, as well as business units and offices for rent.

Southmead Youth Centre

In partnership with Creative Youth Network our Youth Team runs a weekly programme for young people.  The Centre also offers a fully equipped gym including Boxing Club facilities, and spaces for hire; we currently host Learning Partnership West.

Southmead takes on urban design!

Well, the architects, contractor and other partners are working with the community to decide the finer details of what Glencoyne Square will look like in the future when it is home to new apartments, community spaces and a landscaped park […]
